Thank you for choosing Frisco Aquatics! Below are the step by step instructions for how to join our team.
Our next tryout will be held on May 10 from 4:30-6:00pm at the FISD Natatorium.
Step 1: Attend a Tryout
Periodically, we host tryouts at the Frisco ISD Natatorium. Tryouts are merely a stroke assessment given by our coaches to determine the athlete's ability level. Each swimmer is required to swim a 50 yard freestyle and a 50 yard backstroke before being considered to join. Before we can even discuss placement for your swimmer, he or she will need to attend one of our tryouts.
BRING TO THE TRYOUT...
-
PHOTOCOPY of the swimmer's birth certificate (will not be returned)
-
2013 USA Swimming Membership form [click here to print]. We cannot place a swimmer in a practice group without these two items.
-
Swimsuit and goggles for the athlete trying out.
AT THE TRYOUT...
-
Sign in at the table in the lobby. You will be given a piece of paper with your swimmer's name. Please fill out their experience, if any, as well as the contact information on the form.
-
Find a place in the stands to sit with your swimmer. We will have a volunteer come and call the names of the athletes for them to come down on deck to complete their tryout.
-
Swimmer will be asked to complete a 50 yard freestyle and a 50 yard backstroke, each without stopping and unassisted (includes touching the bottom, walls and laneline).
AFTER THE TRYOUT...
-
If your child made the team, follow the instructions below.
-
If your child did not make the team, be sure to look at the notes made by the coach on your child's tryout sheet. We require certain skills that define what proper backstroke and freestyle look like. We would suggest finding a local lessons program or working with your child to master these skills. Swimmers are welcome to tryout as many times as needed.
