Frisco Aquatics holds tryouts the first Wednesday of every month from 3:45-4:45 p.m.* at the FISD Natatorium, 7411 North First Street in Frisco (just north of the corner of Main St. and North County Ln., next to Staley Middle School). Swimmers need only be able to swim 25 yards of the pool unassisted. Let the pool management staff in the front office know that you'd like to try out for Frisco Aquatics, and they'll direct you to the deck and either Head Coach Jennifer Edmondson or Head Age-Group Coach Cheryl Morrisey. Come prepared with goggles, a towel, and--for girls and boys with longer hair--a swim cap. Also, please download, print, and fill out the following documents:

And BE SURE TO BRING A COPY OF YOUR SWIMMER'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE! For additional information please contact Coach Edmondson or Coach Morrisey via e-mail or telephone 214-226-4498.

*Note: you need not arrive immediately at 3:45 p.m. You may arrive any time between 3:45 and 4:45.

New and Existing Swimmer Registration Fee

A $50 per athlete fee is charged when a swimmer joins FA. Swimmers that drop from the FA program and later apply for reinstatement will be placed on the existing waiting list. Returning swimmers will be charged the $50 registration fee at the time they rejoin the team.

USA Swimming Membership

The annual USA Swimming membership fee is $54.00 per athlete.

2008 Membership Dues

Fees are assessed tri-annually. They are collected by volunteers during practice hours at the first few practices of each "trimester." A volunteer will collect your payment and hand you a card which your swimmer will then present to his/her coach to indicate that he/she may swim. A coach will not admit a swimmer to practice who does not present a card.

** Senior III swimmers will practice from June 9-August 2. View the group's schedule on our Practices page. The $275.00 dues include the $35.00 seasonal USA Swimming registration fee. All club members must register for USA Swimming, regardless of whether or not they plan to compete, for insurance purposes.

Meet Escrow Fees

Every competing swimmer has an escrow account to cover entrance fees for meets, as well as periodic miscellaneous fees. Each swimmer is required to make an initial deposit of $50.00 to cover future meets. As swimmers enter meets, the appropriate amount is deducted from each swimmer’s account and the FA Treasurer issues one check to the team hosting the meet. Swimmers will be invoiced for the amount of deposit necessary to bring the meet fee escrow back to the minimum. When a swimmer leaves the team, any remaining funds in his meet fee escrow account may be refunded. Refund requests must be in writing or by e-mail to the team treasurer within 60 days of a swimmer’s departure for the FA program.

All swimmers attending a meet will be invoiced an additional charge of $1.50 per swimmer.

Resigning from Frisco Aquatics

Upon resignation from FA it is the swimmer’s/parent’s responsibility to contact the team treasurer in writing with resignation information. Refund policy: (1) The $50.00 Frisco Aquatics registration fee is nonrefundable. (2) The $54.00 USA Swimming registration fee is refundable only up until the point when the FA Registration Chairperson mails the registration application to USA Swimming, which takes place within a week of joining. (3) For new swimmers, dues are refundable within the first week of membership; thereafter, dues will not be refunded.

Sick Leave or Vacations

If your child is sick or on vacation and will miss an extended amount of practice, please contact your coach.

Fundraising and Volunteering

Each FA swimmer is required to participate in the fundraising activities of the team. Each athlete must raise a minimum of $150.00 per fiscal year and families with multiple swimmers must raise $200.00 per fiscal year. New members will have their fundraising requirement pro-rated. The team will provide at least two fundraising opportunities per year. Swimmers who fall short of their minimum requirement will be invoiced the required minimum less any funds raised by the swimmer.

Every Frisco Aquatics family is required to volunteer for the swim team. This can be done in a variety of ways; timing at meets, helping with fundraisers, etc. Each family must volunteer a minimum of 15 hours per year or they will be billed $25.00 per hour.

Practice Policy

Coaches will let the swimmers know if there are any changes to your swimmers' practice times; look for the monthly calendar on FA's website. FA swimmers will not be able to practice during FISD school holidays and when other swim team's host swim meets at the FISD facility.

To avoid distractions, parents are discouraged from actively watching practices. Due to USA insurance liability restrictions, only swimmers and coaches are allowed on the pool deck.

The best preparation for successful swimming is to attend practice as often as possible. As your child commits to the sport, they will increase their daily attendance. Please remember that swimmers should arrive on time and plan to stay for the entire practice. The last part of practice is very often the most important with a swimmer's best efforts occurring at the end of practice. Also coaches often make any announcements at the end of practice.

Do not drop of your swimmer early before any coach is at the pool, NEVER leave your child unattended without a coach present. Pick up your child promptly; beginning 15 minutes after practice you will be assessed $10 for each 15 minutes you are late - payable to the coach waiting with your child at the time you pick him up. Please remember that the coaches have daytime jobs and end of practice is the end of a long working day for them.
